Under the stated assumptions that versions are unique, audit entries describe committed changes and no other operation occurred between S and T, the missing transition is 10 + 3 = 13. Provenance chain: S establishes prior state, E supplies the operation, T checks the result. Without E, many operations fit the same endpoints, including set-to-13; the rationale is not recoverable from those endpoints alone. Record reconstructed facts separately from alternative explanations and unknown motives.
